✨ Reflections by Valerie Tameu, who will lead the experience

How does the posture of a person who has spent forty years on a boat change?
How does another sense of balance develop? How does a crew coordinate almost without speaking? How does a body learn to anticipate the sea?

How can a body encounter the experience of another body without imitating it?

The body becomes a living archive, holding on to movements and to the relationships that generated them. Transmission does not mean handing over a technique or teaching a gesture. It means creating a space in which certain deep qualities of that experience can pass through other bodies.

Experiencing the effort of pulling heavy loads, the instability of a foothold, the need to coordinate with someone else. It's not about becoming a fisherman. It's a matter of coming into contact with a bodily condition that a specific practice makes visible.

The research therefore moves within a space of translation. A knowledge belonging to a community meets other bodies and, in that encounter, changes shape. It is not appropriated, but listened to and transformed.

What interests me is that point of passage where the audience can recognise the origin of a movement without seeing a reconstruction. Understanding that something comes from fishing, without seeing a representation of fishing.

The body becomes the place where a knowledge goes on living — not because it is preserved unchanged, but because it can generate new forms of relationship.
